JYP (Park Jin-Young) guested on Weekly Idol Ep. 247 Today (April 20, 2016)

On this episode, the CEO of JYP Entertainment answered some questions by Defconn, the main MC of the show.

First, Defconn asked Hani whether she had anything to say to JYP because she was once a JYP trainee.

Hani hesitated at first, but thanked JYP for making her have a dream of becoming a singer.

Then Defconn asked JYP what he thought about Hani, one of the Weekly Idol MCs now and member of the idol group EXID, who was once a JYP trainee.

JYP said he also watched the fan cam of Up and Down which made Hani famous overnight and he was surprised at Hani's excellent dancing and praised her for her dancing talent.

Defconn also asked him whether he regretted about many idols who were once trainees of JYP Entertainment (most notably, IU, Hyorin [Sistar], Gu Hara [Kara], Choa [AOA], Xiumin [EXO], Yoon Doo Joon [Beast]), and if he were to choose top 3 among them, who they would be.

JYP said he could not choose just three, but he was sure that Hani would be no.1 among them.

He went on to say that the idols may have not become so successful if they had not been rejected by him in the past.

Then he told about his past experience. 

Some 23 years ago, he also auditioned with Soo Man Lee, the CEO of SM Entertainment and he was rejected. That failure made him successful today.

Defconn then asked JYP the question that everyone wanted to ask but couldn't: why did he eliminate Jeon Somi in the audition show Sixteen?

JYP said that at the time Somi looked not as mature as other nine members. But he was sure that Somi could become better and more mature eventually.

However, now he was very proud of Somi for her success in Produce 101.
